Traditional dentures vs. implant-supported dentures

Both replace missing teeth. The way they are supported changes how they feel and how you care for them.

Traditional dentures rest on the gums

A conventional denture uses the shape of the mouth and surrounding tissues for support. Lower dentures can be especially prone to movement. As the ridge changes, a denture may need an adjustment, reline, or replacement. We offer traditional dentures and temporary flippers as well as implant options.

Implants add attachment points

A snap-in denture connects to implant attachments, which can help reduce lifting and slipping. You remove it daily to clean the denture, attachments, and gums. Some existing dentures can be assessed for adaptation, while others need to be replaced for an appropriate fit.

Stability comes with a maintenance routine

Attachment components wear and may need replacement over time. A snap-in denture should be inserted and removed in the manner we demonstrate. We assess whether mini or conventional-sized one-piece implants are suitable and explain the planned restoration, costs, and follow-up.
