Implant-supported dentures in Louisville

If your denture feels like a compromise, discover how mini implant support could help you feel more secure.

Understand your options

The short answer

Implant-supported dentures use dental implants as anchors instead of relying only on the gums, suction, or adhesive. At Freedom, we evaluate mini implant options to improve denture stability and help you choose between removable and fixed restorations.

Why dentures can become unstable

Tooth loss changes the supporting jawbone and gums over time. A denture that once fit well may begin to move or rub. We evaluate the denture and supporting tissues to understand whether an adjustment, new restoration, or implant support is appropriate.

Removable or fixed?

A snap-in denture attaches to implants and comes out for daily cleaning. A fixed bridge remains in place and requires cleaning beneath the restoration. Each has different maintenance needs, cost considerations, and requirements for bone and bite support.

A clear path forward

Your consultation includes a conversation about eating, speaking, appearance, and your current denture experience. Dr. Ackerman evaluates your oral and medical health and uses imaging to plan support. We explain the restoration, treatment stages, fees, and financing options.

Keep your denture working well

Good fit does not replace daily care. Clean the denture and implants as directed, keep professional visits, and have worn attachments or changes in fit assessed. We will show you how to care for the specific restoration you receive.

Before your visit

Answers to your questions

They may provide additional retention for a lower denture when there is suitable bone and a compatible restoration. An examination determines whether this is appropriate.

Some are removable snap-in dentures. Other implant restorations, such as fixed bridges, stay attached. We explain both before recommending a design.

That depends on the fit, condition, and design of your current denture. We evaluate whether it can be adapted or whether a new one will provide a better result.

We work with CareCredit, Lending Club, and Cherry Financial. Financing is subject to the provider’s approval and terms; it is separate from the treatment recommendation.

A clear treatment timeline

When a tooth needs to be removed, we typically allow about three months of healing before placing an implant. We do not extract teeth and place implants at the same appointment. After implants are placed in a healed site, a snap-in denture or temporary restoration can be loaded immediately when planned and supported by adequate implant stability. Your final restoration follows its own treatment schedule.
