Implants, dentures, and bridges: how the options differ
An implant is a support. A crown, bridge, or denture is the restoration it may support. Understanding that difference makes comparisons clearer.
A crown replaces one tooth
An implant-supported crown fills a single gap with a replacement tooth anchored to an implant. Planning considers the bone, available space, and bite. It does not require neighboring teeth to support the restoration like a traditional bridge would.
A bridge connects replacement teeth
An implant bridge may replace a short section or a full arch. We offer two types of full-arch (or roundhouse) bridges: fixed or detachable. Both designs remain in place during daily use, with professional removal or servicing when appropriate. To be a good candidate, you must be able to clean beneath the restoration and keep maintenance visits.

A denture replaces a group of teeth
A traditional denture rests on the gums. A snap-in denture attaches to implants for added stability and is removed at home for cleaning. A loose lower denture is a common reason people visit us. We explain how support, cleaning, budget, and your anatomy affect the choice.
Find the tooth replacement option that fits you
Crowns, bridges, and dentures replace missing teeth in different ways, and implants can provide support to help your restoration stay secure. The right choice depends on how many teeth are missing, your bone and bite, how you want your restoration to feel and function, and how much maintenance you are comfortable with. At Freedom Dental Implants, we walk you through those differences so you can understand which option makes the most sense for your needs.
