The role of one-piece implants in tooth replacement

One-piece designs and a range of implant diameters help clinicians plan different ways to support replacement teeth.

A simple distinction in design

A one-piece implant combines the implant body and connecting portion in a single unit. A two-piece design uses separate components. Mini implants are narrow and commonly use a one-piece design, but conventional-sized one-piece implants also exist. Diameter and component design are different characteristics.

The restoration determines everyday use

A crown, bridge, or denture is attached to the implant support. The restoration determines whether you remove your teeth at home and how you clean them. Choosing the implant is part of planning the complete tooth replacement, not a separate decision based only on size.
