The short answer
Dr. Ackerman explains that many plans provide limited or no implant benefits, but the office can check your individual policy. If coverage is insufficient, the team can discuss third-party financing or payments spread across treatment stages.
Insurance coverage is a common concern when you are considering dental implants. In this video, Dr. Regan Ackerman explains how the office reviews your plan and what other payment options may be available.
A lot of people ask if dental insurance covers implants. So the majority of the time I would say no, but that doesn’t exclude you from being a candidate or coming in for the implant. We work with a lot of third-party finance companies to help you finance the implant if your insurance doesn’t cover it. But also just please call, it’s a free consultation, and we’ll take a look at your insurance plan and can see if you do have any coverage and maybe help you file that to your insurance. But honestly, a lot of insurances have a very low maximum anyway, and they only cover $1,000 to $2,000.
So, if you’re looking at a full arch stabilization, your insurance isn’t going to cover all that. But that’s where our financing comes in. Or even with us, we phase the process out to where you can do staggered payments with us and maybe not even have to do financing at all. So I know that’s a very important question to you but please call the office because we can look into your insurance, see if they do have any coverage. Usually they’re not covering a lot of implants because they kind of see it as aesthetic, and insurances try not to cover a lot of things.
But we certainly want to help you out, and so please call the office. We’ll look into your insurance the best we can or try to help you with third-party financing or staggered payments.

Do not assume you know the benefits
Dr. Ackerman describes common limitations, but she also asks patients to provide their actual plan information. Checking the policy helps you understand the benefits and the remaining cost before deciding how to pay for treatment.
