The short answer
Dr. Ackerman offers snap-in dentures and implant-supported roundhouse bridges. Snap-in dentures are removable for daily cleaning, while a roundhouse bridge stays in place for the patient. She uses a consultation and 3D X-ray to recommend an option for your needs.
If your denture moves, needs adhesive, or feels uncomfortable, you may want to know what else is available. In this video, Dr. Regan Ackerman compares snap-in dentures with roundhouse bridges and explains how each option is used at Freedom Dental Implants.
So what implant denture options do I offer? One of the most common ones is what we call a snap-in denture. So many people are struggling with their dentures using glue or can’t keep their dentures in. Maybe they kind of gave up on them and not wearing them. So I can do what we call a snap-in denture. We use mini dental implants, which are essentially just smaller-diameter, less invasive implants. So when I place these implants, I’ll numb you up, just local anesthetic. I don’t make any incisions or stitches. And then the day I put the implants in, we’ll either have made you a new denture or use your existing denture. We’ll be able to put these attachments inside the denture, and then you leave that day with the denture snapped on to the implants.
So no more glue, no more floppy denture. You can finally go out to eat and order what you want off the menu. And a lot of times people are gagging on that top denture. We can trim that back a little bit so that you can keep your denture in without that gaggy feel. A lot of times just having the implants stabilize the denture keeps it from moving so it’s not gagging you, because a lot of times that gagging is triggered from floppy denture.
So that’s one option that we do for implant dentures. And then the other option, we can get rid of your denture completely., where we do what we call a roundhouse bridge. It’s made out of zirconia, so it’s a much, much stronger material, which means we can get rid of majority of that pink part. So it just feels more comfortable, and I will place the implants the same way no incisions, no stitches, local anesthetic. You could drive yourself to the office, drive yourself home, and then we have the bridge made for you.
Once this is snapped on or cemented on, it is essentially permanent to you. You’re not going to take it out. You’re going to brush it every day. We give you a Waterpik. Think of it as like a power washer for your mouth.
You’re going to use it once a night and clean everything. But then you have nothing on the roof of your mouth. You could taste all your food. But you’ll come see me every 6 months, and I’ll be the one to clean it. We’ll either clean it.
If it’s the detachable version, we can remove everything, clean everything, tighten everything up on the bridge, snap it back in, and off you go for another 6 months of enjoying your eating and confidence of your smile. So as far as implant denture options, there’s always the snap-in denture, and then there’s the roundhouse bridges that we do. We can always determine which option’s best for you at our free consultation that we do, and we’ll do a 3D x-ray to make sure you have enough bone to place the implants. So please call for the free consultation. It’s one of my favorite things to do is to help people struggling with their dentures.
I know a lot of people they had all their teeth taken out and they thought, I’m just going to get dentures and everything’s going to be great, it’s going to be better, and they didn’t realize the struggles of dentures. So please call. I’d love to help you out with the mini dental implants.

Compare how each option fits your routine
Both options use implants, but caring for them at home is different. A snap-in denture comes out for cleaning. A roundhouse bridge stays in place while you brush and use a water flosser, with professional maintenance at the office. Dr. Ackerman can explain which approach fits your needs.
