Does Dental Insurance Cover Implant Supported Dentures

Implant denture treatment includes more than one component, which can make insurance questions confusing. In this video, Dr. Regan Ackerman explains why the denture and implants may be treated differently by your plan.

A lot of people ask if implant dentures are covered by insurance. We can certainly file the information to your insurance to see if you have any coverage. I would say sometimes the denture may be covered as long as you haven’t had it made within the past 5 years. Usually that’s kind of the time limit for most insurances. Now there’s no guarantee on that.

Every insurance is different, and we really don’t know your insurance until you provide us with that information, but I’d say the majority of the time they’re probably not going to cover the implants, but they may be able to cover the denture process, and we are certainly happy to file that information to your insurance for you.
